Caramelized banana oatmeal

Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups water or milk
1 ripe banana, mashed
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings - nuts, berries, or yogurt
Instructions:
In a saucepan: bring water or milk to a boil.
Add rolled oats and a pinch of salt: Reduce heat to medium and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in: the mashed banana, honey, and cinnamon.
Cook for an additional 2 minutes until creamy.
For the caramelized bananas: In a separate skillet, melt butter or oil over medium heat. Add banana slices and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and caramelized.
